The course
You will experience a variation of presentations, inspiration in videos, exercises and real time meetings. As preparation for the course you are advised to read 2 chapters in the manual: Fewer, Shorter and Better Meetings do a small exercise and answer a questionnaire.
Contents
The course includes a technique for brainstorming 50, perhaps 70 ideas in 25 minutes. As the chairperson you need to set the scene correctly to make a true brainstorm work in a meeting.
Chairperson strategy
Vital to a successful result is the considerations made by the organizer and chairperson before a meeting. Purpose, goal, form, participants and timeframe are all important questions to answer before sending out an agenda. The most important guide for planning, deciding on the use of techniques and inviting participants is the purpose of the meeting.
The complete agenda
Get of to a good start with a complete agenda that set the scene of the meeting for everyone attending. The framework of the agenda is important in assuring a good flow in the meeting.
Dynamic meetings
Be aware how important it is to make an opening at a meeting, to lead the discussion and to resume conclusions. Tips on how to assist a weak chairperson during a meeting, is also included in the theory of the course.
Seminar
During this part of the course the attendants will exchange ideas on how to implement the theory and techniques into their daily work.
